Whenever I’m heading out for a quick trip or weekend getaway, I always try to stick to a carry-on. No waiting at baggage claim, no lost luggage drama—just grab and go.
My secret weapon? Rolling my clothes tight. Not only does it save a ton of space, but it also keeps things from looking like they’ve been stuffed in a bag for three days (because they kind of have). I roll everything—tees, jeans, even dresses—and it all fits like a travel Tetris game.
Bonus tip: I pick pieces that mix and match easily so I’m not packing three outfits a day “just in case.” Trust me, you don’t need half as much as you think. I’ve even got my kids doing it now, and believe it or not, they actually enjoy it. It’s turned into this little challenge to see who can roll the tightest or fit the most in their bag—and it makes getting ready for a trip way more fun.
With a little strategy, you’ll be amazed how much you can fit in a carry-on—and how much easier your trip feels when you travel light. Try it once, and you’ll never look back.
